The “SMART MICRO GRID” is one of the future sub-elements of the SMART GRID. These are cells of a couple of MW (e.g. for villages, a part of a town or for industrial plants.) Its main characteristic is the medium voltage and low voltage level for energy distribution. SMART MICRO GRID may include renewable sources, energy storage and an intelligent distribution system with energy flow management carried out by intelligent power electronic devices balancing both load and source.
